Bad ending... T_T. The film opens showing us the abuse and murders at a boys reform school in 1995. An infant survives and is raised by? 20 years later Sam (Grayson Russell ) a geeky coder invented an app he calls "Apparition" which allows people to communicate with the dead. After a good connection, the second one takes the sons and daughters of the guard murderers to the reform school.
It was a decent horror film. Nothing really unexpected. The "Carrie" moment didn't work, at least for me. Good characters, fair dialogue.
Guide: F-word. Near sex. no nudity.

The Apparition Official theatrical release poster Directed by Todd Lincoln Produced by Alex Heineman Andrew Rona Joel Silver Written by Todd Lincoln Starring Ashley Greene Sebastian Stan Tom Felton Julianna Guill Music by Tomandandy Cinematography Daniel Pearl Edited by Jeff Betancourt Tom Elkins Harold Parker Production company Dark Castle Entertainment Studio Babelsberg Distributed by United States: Warner Bros. Pictures United Kingdom: StudioCanal Release date August 24, 2012 Running time 82 minutes Country United States Germany Language English Budget $17 million [1] Box office $9, 627, 492 [2] The Apparition is a 2012 American-German supernatural horror film, written and directed by Todd Lincoln, making his directorial debut, and starring Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, Tom Felton, Julianna Guill and Rick Gomez. [3] The plot follows three college students who, after the death of their friend, must battle a supernatural force they summoned themselves. The film was loosely inspired by the Philip experiment conducted in 1972. [4] The film was a box office bomb and was cited by critics as one of the worst horror movies of 2012. Plot [ edit] On May 21, 1973, six people conduct The Charles Experiment, a parapsychological experiment, in which they stare at a drawing of a deceased man, Charles Reamer, hoping to summon his spirit. Years later, four college students, Patrick ( Tom Felton), Lydia ( Julianna Guill), Ben ( Sebastian Stan) and Greg ( Luke Pasqualino) attempt to recreate the Charles Experiment on a larger scale by using modern technology. During the experiment, something attacks the students and pulls Lydia into the wall. Some time later, Ben and his girlfriend Kelly ( Ashley Greene) are living together. One evening, they discover strange burn marks on their counters. Kelly finds both doors wide open, even though they had locked them. They decide to change the locks and install surveillance cameras. Later, Kelly finds a large amount of mold and spores on the laundry room floor while Ben finds even more in a crawlspace. Ben gets 36 "urgent" emails from Patrick that first inform him of a new attempt at the Charles Experiment, followed by a warning that "containment failed" and finally "you are in danger". After witnessing an apparition, the couple go to a hotel, but they are attacked there as well. As they flee, they receive a call from Patrick and meet him. Patrick explains that the initial experiment enabled a malevolent entity to enter their world, but that he has built a room surrounded by a negative current that he believes protects him from it. They return to Kelly and Ben's house to try a new experiment to contain the entity. During the experiment, the house begins to shake and break apart, then abruptly stops. While Kelly and Ben are outside, Patrick is pulled into the darkness and vanishes. Unable to find Patrick, they flee to the safety chamber in his house. Inside the house, they hear Patrick's personal log being played back, including information about the members of the original experiment. Of the original six, two died, one committed suicide and the other three disappeared. After entering the safety chamber, Ben disappears. Kelly exits the chamber and finds Ben's contorted corpse. Patrick's narration explains that the entity gets stronger with each person it claims, and that it will wear its victims down until they are too weak to resist. With no escape, Kelly wanders around, and enters an empty Costco. She walks to the camping section, enters a tent and waits to be killed by the entity, having fully given up resisting. A number of hands appear from behind and the entity slowly grabs hold of her as the movie cuts to black. Cast [ edit] Production [ edit] In May 2009, Todd Lincoln was named as the director and screenwriter of the project. [5] Joel Silver cast Twilight actress Ashley Greene for the lead role of Kelly on November 5, 2009. [6] On December 9, Lincoln announced via Twitter that pre-production had begun on the project, [7] which was financed by Dark Castle Entertainment. [8] On January 26, 2010, Friday the 13th actress Julianna Guill was cast in the role of Lydia. [9] Harry Potter star Tom Felton was cast on February 8, [10] and was joined one week later by Sebastian Stan and Luke Pasqualino. [11] Filming began on February 26, 2010 in Berlin, Germany, [12] with other scenes being shot in Los Angeles. [13] On March 25, Greene shot some scenes in the Anaverde neighborhood of Palmdale, California. [14] [15] The project marked Lincoln's directorial debut. [16] Silver produced with Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman. [17] Release [ edit] The film was released on August 24, 2012, in 810 theaters. [2] Home media [ edit] The film was released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 27, 2012. Reception [ edit] Critical response [ edit] The Apparition was criticized for its lack of originality, overuse of jump scares, poor acting and screenplay, and bad plot. It has an overall approval rating of 3% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 62 reviews, with an average rating of 2. 33/10. The consensus says, " The Apparition fails to offer anything original, isn't particularly scary, and offers so little in the way of dramatic momentum that it's more likely to put you to sleep than thrill you. " [18] On Metacritic, the film holds a score of 18 out of 100, indicating "Overwhelming dislike". [19] Much of the film's criticisms referred to a lack of originality, and similarities to other horror films, including Ju-on: The Grudge, Ring, Paranormal Activity, and Pulse. Brian Orndof from said, "The trailer for The Apparition contained more story than the picture it was promoting. In fact, I think the trailer for The Apparition is actually more of a movie than The Apparition. " Mark Dujsik agreed, saying, "It's so terrible that there might actually be more tension in the numbing first act of monotonous chores than there is in anything that follows. " [20] IndieWire called the film a "hauntingly inept chiller", feeling that the film "makes no attempts to transcend or even enliven its genre". [21] RedEye Chicago called the film "hilariously non-scary". [22] Box office [ edit] The Apparition was a box office bomb. The film came in at #12 in its opening weekend at the box office, with a gross of $2. 84 million. [2] According to Box Office Mojo, "With the unusually-low theater count and a practically non-existent marketing effort, it's clear Warner Bros. was trying to bury this movie, and they appear to have succeeded. " [23] As of November 2012, it grossed $4. 9 million domestically and $9. 6 million worldwide. [2] [24] Nomination [ edit] The film was nominated for Worst Film at the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards 2013. Movie News & Reviews Watch scary official trailer of ‘APParition, ’ movie with Sacramento-area ties By December 13, 2019 07:45 PM A group of young people, guided by an app that connects living with the dead, find themselves at an abandoned castle with a horrific history tied to each of them. Release date: December 27, 2019. Co-written by Howard Bird and Mark S. Allen.

Oh my god it's FUCKING JESUS. They actually made a movie about being stuck in a pool. He's not really good at denying. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy, is very strong in softening the hardest of hearts. I have said this prayer for a friend of mine and Our Lord enables us to talk, by phone, very soon afterward, so I can see how The Chaplet has helped him. It makes me very glad. The Chaplet is quite effective, when prayed for another!  I believe Our Lord will enable you to see how. Preston Castle, formerly known as the Preston School of Industry, has been a haunting totem at the end of Palm Drive since its construction in 1890, where it served as a notorious reformatory for delinquent youths until being vacated in 1960. “Apparition, ” a new film co-written and co-produced by local filmmakers Howard Burd and Mark S. Allen, utilizes the landmark as the film’s setting and taps into some of the chilling tales which have come to define it. The duo trace their friendship back 25 years to Allen’s time at Channel 31. They have collaborated on six films, which have habitually utilized nearby locales. “Ballbuster, ” a sports comedy, was filmed in the Golden One Center. The horror flick “Phear Farm” was set against the rural landscape of Dixon, while a film on mixed martial artist Nick Newell titled “Notorious Nick” was filmed in Jackson and Sacramento. “We wanted to make a movie locally that would be seen globally, ” Allen said. The film pits the castle’s haunting past against a modern twist. A group of millennials use an app designed to connect the living with the dead, and find themselves bonded to the castle’s historic horrors. The film stars Mena Suvari (“American Beauty”) and Kevin Pollak (“The Usual Suspects. ”) Suvari portrays Anna Collins, a character based on murdered Preston housekeeper Anna Corbin. Corbin was found bludgeoned to death in the basement kitchen area in 1950. According to Burd and Allen, the film also touches on the deaths of seven of the boys who called the castle home. Allen said he had hosted a number of events at the castle throughout his Emmy-winning broadcast career, but it was while manning a screening of “The Conjuring 2” that he was inspired to utilize the backdrop. “I realized that the castle behind the screen was scarier than what was on the screen. I’d known all the different stories. I’d known about the seven boys. I’d known of Anna. I knew that one or both of those would make a great story, ” Allen said. The film features a number of chilling artifacts that have become frequent stops in the landmark’s haunt walkthroughs such as the cleansing pool, which in the past required arrivals to submerge into a medley of disinfecting and sterilizing tonics. Production required refilling the pool, which Suvari’s double, a paranormalist who carried a 3-inch binder of mystic metrics on set, said angered the spirits of the boys by rekindling their past traumas. Burd said the castle itself was the equivalent of a $30 million set in Hollywood, and the filmmakers said it provided a number of unexpected gifts that made their way into the film’s final cut. “We heard everyone on set start screaming. Cut. Playback. We went and looked and a bat, as if on cue, flew between an actor and the camera. If we were to hire the best special effects artist this is exactly the tract line the bat would have gone one, and it flew directly over the mic, so we had the bat’s sight and sound captured in the film, ” Allen said. The film was also written by Rob Rose and director Waymon Boone, who said that Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” influenced the film’s balance of horrors and socially conscious storytelling. The partnership between the film and Preston Castle will continue postproduction as profits for the film will also benefit the Preston Castle Foundation. Apparition will be released in theaters on Dec. 27. The film will also be available the same day on over a dozen digital and on demand platforms including Comcast, DirecTV, Amazon, iTunes and Apple TV. Even before para sakin hawig na talaga si Jas and Coleen pero ngayon mas naging hawig sila, cute lang talaga si Coleen dahil sa pisngi hehe. Btw galing nila dalawa dito lalo si Edgar, galing talaga umacting he owned the character, in my opinion. Michael, i have just had another look at your Part 9 upload, as that one has the shadow figure too. It has occurred to me this time that the deep growling at 0.59 sounds very much like a male voice slowed down many times. Can you listen to it sped up? It sounds a bit like the word 'woman. Weird. Rosery Rosery and Rosery ❤. J'ai une question, A-t'elle déjà parlé de la nouvelle naissance, de l'Esprit Saint. I tend to give low budget horror a lot of leeway. This is so bad, I can't with good conscience do that. There are no half stars to give. Simply put- one of the worst attempts at horror in a long time. Clearly the producers have no idea how to make a film worth watching. I feel sorry for actors, the crew and the investors. I'm sure there were a lot of good people involved who worked very hard on this crappy film. Save your money.

What a waste of Pollak and Suvari's talent. Elsewhere, nothing much to waste. Your classic ghostly revenge story, but now on your smartphone. There's no trope this pitch dark movie doesn't stumble upon. Kudos on electricity bill savings. All in all, a silly, non horrific experience. There are too many like this one. So, are you telling me that the Balto movie I watched when I was like 6 years old lie to me? Well, if you look for me, I'll be crying in the corner.

Seen it all before. Christ! movies are poop these days. I actually read this book and it was really captivating up until the end when it got a little too frenzied (which i think was the authors attempt @ a strong finish. And you can tell he was heavily inspired by other books & movies like Rear Window which he even mentions in the book itself. Oceans 11 spoof via mission impossible via pink panther movie spoof! ayos kulang na lang si palos. J'ai vraiment du mal avec ce genre de vidéo... les trois dernières c'est du gros fake... merci tout de même pour cette vidéo 😉. But wait would they actually die from being in the pool. It just looks like camera flashes coming from the street. you can tell by the shadows that the lights cast that it's coming from down 't see how this is supernatural.

I much rather watch this than the Super Bowl! Does the deceased know they are dead.

Moli zanas draga Gospo i cuvajnas od svakog zla Armen,Amen,Amen. Boze pomozi. This looks so awesome. HoLy shIiiiiii. I thought i wouldnt see another movie with the world titiantic ever again. You might as well role the credits. You showed us the whole movie.
Absolute bollocks what a fool.
One of my favorites.
This is too much, I dont need heart attack.

I think some are true some are false good watch tho thx ❤️😎. Many real saints are im alive.I know every detail of saw the sold my miracle for 800,000,000 and make 15 billion per more then selling icons.I thought the end was perfect. Has a classic feel, and works in the real facts. Love Annalisa Cochrane's commitment in heavier, darker scenes and Kevin Pollak/Mena Suvari elevate every moment.
Biased, but the slow burn middle is completely rewarding in the third act. La dernière est pas mal. Les apparitions sont de plus en plus nombreuses. Not drones.

Arent you scared. Beautiful ❤️. Dont trust reviews about the movie, as most are 1st time reviwers who obviously have ties to the movie.
It's a slow paced boring movie with no real story or action.
Give it a miss or watch train to Busan if you want a real good horror action movie, though it is subtitled for people who may not like subs, watch the babysitter for the same action horror.

3:47 most evil thing I have ever heard in my life

The so called “full body apparition” is clearly the bark of the tree 🙄

Loved apparition! It's has a creative storyline
That is well followed through- great characters and great filming! Executed well! It's fun and not too gory but scary and definitely entertaining horror flick.
